Rebekah Ward
Rebekah embarked on her hairdressing journey in a renowned Hobart salon back in the year of 1993. With exceptional mentorship, she completed her hairdressing training in four years, delving into the art of colouring, styling, and cutting with unwavering dedication. As her skills flourished, Rebekah cultivated a diverse and loyal clientele. Her expertise has transcended, showcasing her talent on both national and international platforms, in addition to imparting knowledge through in-house education. Specializing in blondes, coppers, seamless layers, and bob cuts, Rebekah also finds joy in delving into photographic work and competitions. Although her focus has shifted towards family, business, and education in recent years, she remains an avid gamer and connoisseur of black coffee and crochet. Her fondness for travel is complemented by her passion for writing short stories, a craft she honed while obtaining her university degree in History.
Vincenza Ottavi
Vin brings with her more than a decade of invaluable experience within the hair industry. With her primary focus on delivering exceptional long hair work, balayage, foil effects, style drys, and custom colours, Vin's expertise is truly unmatched. An interesting tidbit about her is that she is also an outstanding mother who cherishes spending quality time with her family.
Natalie Smith
Natalie, with an impressive decade of experience in hairdressing, stands out as a specialist in colouring & styling. Her expertise lies in creating stunning pastel blondes, flawless platinum global blondes, and captivating balayage effects. Aside from her professional talents, she has a deep passion for dogs. Natalie also enjoys quiet moments, finding solace in the soothing serenity of being out on the water & at the beach, which she feels brings her a sense of peace and rejuvenation with her family.
Shannon Burnell
Shannon joins Ukiyo Hair as our up-and-coming stylist, working alongside Rebekah. After taking time off from the hairdressing industry to start a family in the United Kingdom, and pursue a career in historical tour guiding, Shannon brings a fresh perspective to the art of hairstyling. Her passion for vibrant colours is evident in her work, but she also has a knack for creating stunning balayage effects on brunettes and warm browns. Interestingly, Shannon leads a double life as the lead singer of Narsama, a heavy metal band, where she also channels her creativity into writing song lyrics. Beyond her musical endeavours, she has a deep-seated love for exploring new destinations and delving into the history and architecture of gothic structures.
Sophie Summers
Sophie has recently joined our team as a first-year stylist, bringing with her a passion for style drys and curling. She is already demonstrating exceptional skill in toning and treatment massages. Beyond her talents in hairdressing, Sophie has an interesting history, having spent 15 years as a cheerleader and worked as a traffic controller for a year. She has a deep love for country music and camping, and her lifelong dream has been to become a hairdresser.
Sharon Lawler-Ward
Sharon, our esteemed resident fine artist & hostess, hails from a vibrant lineage of artists who excel in diverse fields. Boasting a rich background in textile design for a renowned bed linen enterprise, as well as experience as a skilled barista and professional cleaner, her worldly travels and international sojourns living in France & Canada have endowed her with a wealth of stories and empathy to share. In addition to her creative prowess, Sharon serves as a pivotal inspiration for Rebekah's artistic ingenuity. You will find her work proudly here on this website & in Ukiyo Hair.
